business incubator at Greenville ONE is supporting graduates in
launching their businesses during the critical startup phase
by providing vital ongoing educational opportunities, business
advising and support, exclusive access to investors, and ongoing PR and
marketing support.

Behavioral Science student organization Clemson IDEAS has become a haven
for a rising generation of creative young minds from every discipline
who are ready to discover how to give life to new ideas.

Six
Clemson University professors have been appointed as Arthur M. Spiro
Institute Faculty Fellows and are charged with expanding entrepreneurial
activity among students, staff and faculty at Clemson. The group
includes one member from each of Clemson’s five colleges as well as one
from CU-ICAR.

Package Design Magazine
highlights innovative Clemson Graphic Communications study abroad
program that helps students develop an international perspective on
package design. Associate professor Dr. Nona Woolbright discusses the
inspiration for the program and what's on the horizon.

In
her new book, “Friends Disappear: The Battle for Racial Equality in
Evanston,” Barr examines how racial divides limited the life chances of
blacks while providing opportunities for whites, despite attempts to
integrate beginning in the 1960s.

Heidi
Zinzow, associate professor of Psychology, and Martie Thompson,
research professor in the Institute on Family and Neighborhood Life,
will focus their grant work on preventative strategies, including
improving recognition of suicide risk factors, and increasing knowledge
of resources and intervention strategies.

CBBS
staff member Rosa Grayden was recognized during Clemson’s MLK
Commemorative March and Service for her employee literacy
program advocacy and mentorship as a member of the President’s
Commission for Black Faculty and Staff, as well as for her work
with campus and Pickens County NAACP chapters.

The
award is presented to a member of the faculty whose outstanding
contributions have been judged by his or her peers to represent the
highest achievement of service to the university, the student body and
the larger community. Mobley’s research is on sustainability;
environmental sociology; and technology, engineering and mathematics
(STEM) education.

Germany expert, Dr. Eric Langenbacher will assess the past,
present, and future of this momentous event on Jan. 29 in Hardin Hall at

Linda Burton examines the roles that poverty and intergenerational
family dynamics play in the intimate unions of low income mothers and
the accelerated life-course transitions of children and adults at 1:30
p.m. in Vickery Hall. Co-sponsored by the Department of Sociology
& Anthropology, Pan-African Studies, Policy Studies, and Women's
Studies.
