Senior
finance major Brian Peterson has made the most of his time at Clemson
University. He’s studied at the University of Oxford and Peking
University in Beijing, interned with financial services firms in Atlanta
and Pennsylvania, and chairs the college's Student Advisory Board, all
while maintaining honors status.

Annual Women in Leadership Award selection process is underway for

Darby
Voisin is living proof that rewards come to those who go the extra
yard. The senior economics major was a member of Clemson’s Fiscal
Challenge team, which won first place in a national collegiate
competition. This fall, her team won a national competition presented by
Ernst & Young.

Jennifer
Gerow '11, a management Ph.D. grad, has taken business technology to
another level at Virginia Military Institute. She was recently
recognized for those efforts, among others, in receiving the Association
for Information Systems’ (AIS) Early Career Award.

Derek Riker and business partner Zach Capps graduated from Clemson’s MBAe program in August and already
the entrepreneurs have tweaked Woof Threads’ strategy for delivering
digitally printed dog bandanas. The shift in their business blueprint aims
to tap into a bigger piece of the estimated $60 billion spent annually
in the U.S. on pets.

her years at Clemson, Meredith Starkey '99 couldn’t escape sports — not
that she wanted to. She didn’t simply attend athletic events, she owned
them — dancing in the endzone with the Rally Cats and tossing orange
T-shirts to fans in Littlejohn Coliseum. Today, Starkey has channeled
her passion into a career with one of the largest wireless companies in
the nation.

In
anticipation of the Clemson College of Behavioral, Social and Health
Sciences’ official start on July 1, the college has tapped psychology
professor Eric Muth to be the new associate dean for research and
graduate studies; and parks, recreation and tourism management professor
Denise Anderson will serve as associate dean for undergraduate studies.

Phi Beta Kappa Lecture, “Alexander Hamilton: A Reconsideration,” on Feb.
11 at 5 p.m. in 382 Sirrine Hall. The lecture is open to the public.

South Carolina's status as a "right to work" state, meaning
employees cannot be required to join a labor union, as well as
attractive tax rates make companies more likely to relocate to South
Carolina than other states, said Scott Baier, economics professor,
in The Greenville News article about South Carolina's status as the second most popular destination for state-to-state moves.
