Greetings Tiger Families,

The end is officially in sight! For some students that means that they will be wearing a graduation gown and walking across a commencement stage, and for some, they are already making plans for the summer. No matter the case, it is always an exciting time for all.

Transition is something all students can relate to at this time of year. At this point, students are in a variety of transitions: moving their things to their new place for next year, graduating and shifting into the next phase of life, starting new jobs or internships for the summer, or returning home until the fall semester begins. All of these transitions are exhilarating, but can also be more challenging than we can think.

The Office of New Student and Family Programs and Clemson University would like to wish you and your family a great summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall, or if you are graduating, at alumni weekend!

Best Wishes and GO TIGERS!

Paige Kegley
Associate Director of New Student and Family Programs

Diversity on Clemson's Campus
In the past few weeks, there has been a lot of dialogue about diversity on Clemson's campus. University President Clements recently identified some of the main steps the University is taking along with detailed action points. You can read more about these initiatives here.

Herb Coughlan Memorial Parent/Family Of The Year Nomination
The Clemson Family is a very special experience here, and we like to honor a parent or family that has demonstrated dynamic leadership and service to Clemson University throughout their students' time during the 2015–2016 academic year. All nominations must be made by Wed., June 15, and the award will be presented at the football game on Family Weekend. NOMINATE A FAMILY TODAY!

Family Weekend 2016 Registration and Hotel Information
Family Weekend 2016 is right around the corner on the weekend of September 16-18! Keep an eye on the Clemson Parents website for registration that will be open in mid June. We have Family Weekend special rates at our two host hotels that are currently up on our Family Weekend page now! Hotels go quickly, so we recommend getting your stay booked early!

Summer Study Abroad
Summer is the perfect time for students to go abroad, and we make it as easy as 1,2, 3! If your student is still interested in going abroad for part or all of the summer, it's not too late. We still have third-party programs accepting students. Search our available programs here. As many graduating seniors who have studied abroad will tell you, nothing adds to a résumé or interview like talking about your experience connecting with other cultures while abroad.

The Paw Pantry is Officially Open for Business
The Paw Pantry is a community-wide movement to reduce food insecurity and promote wellbeing at Clemson. Congruent with Clemson's ethic of caring for one another, we strive to ensure students' foundational and nutritional needs are met. How can you support? We are constantly looking for food or money donations, no matter how small. If you would like to donate any non-perishable food items or hygienic supplies, or have any questions about this initiative, send us an email and we can help provide some areas of need! Here is a quick guide for FAQ's. We also hope that you will follow us on Facebook.

How Can We Serve Our Parents/Families Better? — We Want Your Feedback!
The Office of New Student and Family Programs stays busy implementing tools for families to be engaged in the Clemson Experience, and we offer resources to support students and families in need. We want your feedback on what we can do better. Please take a minute of your time to help us best serve you.

Student Traveling this Summer?
If your student is traveling this summer, remind them to refill their prescriptions at Redfern Health Center Pharmacy before they leave, and make arrangements to get those prescriptions filled over the summer. To refill a prescription, students can call 864-656-3562, visit our website or use the mobile app — m.mobilerx.net/redfern.

Encouraging Healthy Habits Over the Summer
Over the summer months, there are many ways your student can enjoy the warm weather while still practicing healthy behaviors. Encourage them to stay active, maintain a healthy diet, and to use sunscreen and insect repellant. To learn more, visit our website.

Summer and Fall UPIC (on campus internship) Opportunities
The Summer and Fall University Professional Internship and Co-op Program (UPIC) opportunities are currently posted in ClemsonJobLink. This is a great option for students to learn while remaining on campus. Learn more about the program on our website.

Student Graduating This May?
First of all — CONGRATULATIONS! What an exciting time. If your student is a graduating senior, remind them to complete the graduation survey when they receive their invitation via email. This information is greatly appreciated and helps current and future students.

Make Appointments While Your Students are Home for Summer Break
This is a great time of year to make appointments with your family doctors, dentists, etc. while your student is home for the summer break. And remember appointments may be filled quickly with college students coming home.

Do You have Career Opportunities to Offer to Clemson Students?
If you have an opportunity you would be willing to post for Clemson students, we would love to know about it. If you have full- and part-time employment opportunities, email Deb Herman. For all off-campus internship opportunities, email Troy Nunamaker. For Cooperative Education opportunities, you can contact Dr. Jeff Neal.

Did Your Student Have a Poor Academic Semester?
If your student gets a notice this summer stating they are on academic probation, the Academic Success Center (ASC) offers several opportunities to get back on track. CU 1010 is a two-credit course designed to improve study skills and help students discover resources for success. Register for one of the sections in iRoar for the fall semester.
