Vivian Morris, MHRD Director of Employee Retention and Engagement Vivian Morris serves as the director of engagement and retention. She joined Clemson in February of 1988 as a data management and research analyst. During her tenure at Clemson, Vivian has worked in salary administration, classification and compensation, and training and development. She was also the director of recruitment for more than thirteen years. In her current role, Vivian directs on-boarding and off-boarding processes for the University through planning, execution and communication to relevant stakeholders. She also leads the engagement and retention initiatives for the University. Vivian attended Lander College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in information technology. She then attended Clemson and earned her master’s degree in human resource development. Vivian currently serves on the board of directors for the South Car- olina College and University Professional Association (CUPA), and she is the membership and chapter outreach coordinator for the CUPA Southern Region. Vivian has one son, Dominique Israel Morris, and six grandchil- dren. When she is not working, Vivian loves to spend time with family and friends, cook, sing and play the piano. Ami graduated from Clemson with a bachelor’s degree in financial management in 1992 and earned her MBA from Clemson in 1993. She has been with the University since the fall of 1999. Ami first worked as payroll manager before becoming the business officer for the College of Business. Later in her career, Ami returned to Finance to work in her current position. Prior to her time at Clemson, Ami gained valuable private-sector work experience while working with Compass Group USA. In her current position, Ami has oversight of a highly complex payroll in excess of $375 million with employees operating in more than twenty-five states. She ensures that Clemson University employees are paid accurately and timely, and she is a key subject matter expert on timekeeping and payroll policies. Ami makes certain that payroll withholdings are remitted to various vendors and issues over 14,000 W2s annually. In addition, Ami oversees the University’s timekeeping system, providing key leadership during Kronos upgrades, maintenance management and user training. Clemson could not operate without Ami’s attention to detail and financial expertise. Ami enjoys knowing that she is making a difference to the employees at Clemson every day. In her free time, Ami enjoys reading books and watching movies. She also loves traveling with her daughter and spending time with her family in the area.
