Greg Carlton Director of HR Systems, Tools and Employee Data Greg Carlton leverages career experience gained from his work in the private sector and decades of work experience driving service platform optimization in higher education. Greg started his career in the private sector as a software tester. In his first role at Clemson, he served as a software developer for CCIT. As the director of HR systems, tools and employee data, Greg has been a go-to player for major IT projects at the University since 1998. Greg serves on various committees throughout the University, including the Conflict of Interest Policy Committee and the Information Security Awareness Committee, all while providing key leadership insights for an array of important IT projects across campus. He also leads the Human Resources Information Management function and teams. Greg provides direction to ensure that all aspects of data and records management and information technology practices support the needs of the HR department. Greg is the data steward for all HR-related data; he developed and maintains the Office of Human Resources’ dashboard. He also leads analysis requirements and IT special projects for HR. Over the years, Greg has been instrumental in major IT infrastructure improvements including Tiger Talent, PeopleSoft and Kronos, just to name a few. Greg is a graduate of Tri-County Technical College where he earned an associate’s degree in computer information systems. Greg and his wife, Julie, have two children and they love to travel. Greg was recently scuba certified and is ready for his next dive trip. Jamie has been with Clemson University since 2012 and has experience in management and human resources since 2001. He received his bachelor’s degree in management with an emphasis in HR from Clemson University and is a certified professional in human resources. Prior to his current position, he worked as the director of classification and compensation at Clemson and was also the Senior Manager of HR partners. Earlier in his career, Jamie worked as a store manager for both Hobby Lobby and CVS Pharmacy. As the director of the HR solutions, Jamie is responsible for the management and leadership of a team of HR generalists who provide HR services including employee classification, compensation, recruitment and employee relations. Clemson leverages Jamie’s extensive work experience to continually improve the University’s HR processes with the goal of becoming a leading HR organization with exemplary customer service and maximum customer satisfaction. Jamie and his team are responsible for ensuring customers receive the HR services they need in a timely and efficient manner. Jamie has two children and enjoys traveling and watching Clemson football when he is not working.
