Research Safety and Compliance The Office of Research Safety and the Office of Researc Compliance promote a culture of safety, integrity and quality within the University research community by of- fering various consultation and educational programs for all researchers. The offices facilitate University research, teaching and public service programs by providing over- sight and coordination of research compliance and safety policies and regulations. As a member of the University community, you have 24/7 access to a confidential, third-party ethics and safety line to report concerns or issues regarding ques- tionable practice. Institutional Review Board With the exciting research being conducted at Clemson comes a great responsibility to ensure the safety of human subjects and researchers alike. Clemson’s Instit utional Review Board (IRB ) is dedicated to protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects recruited to partici-pate in research activities conducted under the auspices of the University. The IRB must review and approve all research involving human subjects prior to initiation.
