A NOTE FROM THE VP
|
Greetings from the Vice President’s office!
I hope each of you had a wonderful winter break. We are excited to get another spring semester underway. I want to extend a warm welcome to any new employees who have joined our staff. We have a very knowledgeable team ready and willing to help as you get acclimated to the Division of Student Affairs. In addition, we have multiple new employee orientation sessions scheduled throughout the year to assist with your transition. The first session is set for Feb. 26, and we will be sure to send more details at a later date.
As always, we have a lot going on within our division and at the university:
- One of our signature events, the annual Student Affairs Gala, is scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Madren Center. Ensuring our students have the best Clemson Experience would not be possible without your hard work, so we hope you will make plans to join us for this special “Speakeasy” edition of the Gala, as we celebrate all who have impacted the lives of our students. More details are listed in the section immediately below.
- The implementation of our strategic plan is well underway. Following budget and operational planning presentations from our department heads, our leadership team evaluated the data provided and made consolidated resource allocations for FY20 based on divisional priorities and objectives outlined in the strategic plan. The framework from which we operate includes specific accountability and assessment measures to best evaluate our performance and impact in supporting student success and the institution’s goal of being a top-20 public university.
- Congratulations to the players, coaches and staff on winning the third football national championship in school history, our second in the past three years. The program continues to generate great exposure, which certainly has proven to enhance the Clemson University brand and helps us attract the very best students.
Below you will find more information on upcoming events, as well as the latest news and notes from Student Affairs. It truly is a great time to be a Tiger. I look forward to a wonderful year together.
Go Tigers!

In December, student volunteers from Clemson Hope purchased, wrapped and delivered more than 1,100 Christmas gifts to local area elementary schools through the Adopt-A-Classroom
campaign. The gifts come from community members who donate toys or give money to the organization to purchase items on their behalf.
