Experience: Student Affairs
Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center
Follow Me On Twitter Greetings from the Vice President’s office!

I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and enjoyed the holiday season with family and friends. I know many of you were able to travel to New Orleans and support our Tigers in the Sugar Bowl. We are very proud of our team for another great season, highlighted by our third straight ACC Championship! Our winter sports are also off to a terrific start, led by the nationally-ranked men’s basketball team. Your support makes a big difference in the success of our teams.

A lot of exciting things are happening in Student Affairs as we start the new year. We have received final approval to move forward with the second phase of the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center, and will soon begin construction on a new field covering 140,000 square feet that will open this fall to support intramural and club sports competition, along with the LoConte Family Field that’s already in use. Later this year, we will also begin construction on a new first-class facility for our Clemson Outdoor Recreation and Education (CORE) program, which will make a big difference for students participating in these popular activities.

Your Clemson Experience is shaped in many ways by your involvement on campus. A great resource for connecting with different student organizations, events and other opportunities is found through TigerQuest. With more than 500 student organizations, Clemson provides something for everyone!

One way to be involved is through the upcoming Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 15. In conjunction with the holiday honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., students are invited to participate in a blood drive from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. in Hendrix Student Center.

Other popular programs starting soon are the U-NITES! events. This series gets underway on Friday, Jan. 19 at 10 p.m. in the Hendrix Center ballrooms with “Trivia Night.” Visit their website for a full list of dates, locations and on-campus activities planned for the spring semester.

Make sure to mark your calendar for the weekend of April 13–15 for our annual Spring Family Reunion. Clemson is beautiful in the spring, and we want to show it off to your family! The weekend features plenty of outdoor activities, entertainment and an important ACC baseball series against the Miami Hurricanes. More details will follow on what is sure to be a relaxing, family-friendly weekend.

We are excited you are here to begin another great semester at Clemson. Please remember the Division of Student Affairs is here to support and enhance your experience. On behalf of the division, I wish you a safe, happy and healthy new year.

Sincerely,
