Healthy Campus
We strive for Clemson University to be a national model of health, safety and sustainability and
for our students to experience a way of life at Clemson University that contributes to their lifelong
health and well-being. Healthy Campus strives to achieve this by providing exemplary leadership
and advocacy for public health, engaged learning activities and population-level interventions.
Healthy Campus offers presentations and information focused on the following areas, online
and as requested: alcohol and other drugs, anxiety, body image, building social connections,
depression, eating disorders, fitness, interpersonal violence, mental health, nutrition, safety on
social media, sexual health, sleep, stress, sustainability, tobacco and other health-related topics.
Healthy Campus also coordinates Aspire to Be Well, a peer-led, health- and safety-focused dialogue
presented by Healthy Campus facilitators. This 90-minute dialogue covers areas key to maintaining
a healthy and safe lifestyle including overall wellness, alcohol and other drug misuse prevention,
mental health and suicide prevention, and interpersonal violence prevention, while focusing
on bystander intervention.
Eating on Campus
The infamous “freshman 15” is something most people are familiar with when it comes to college
students and food. Fortunately, we have found that to be a myth and the actual weight gain is
only five to eight pounds the first year of college. Still, there are great ways for your student to stay
healthy when it comes to eating on campus. Clemson’s dining halls are committed to healthy food
and dining programs that make it easy for them to eat right. Visit
clemson.campusdish.comfor more
information.
The Clemson Dining Experience
Clemson offers a variety of dining experiences on campus to meet the needs of our students.
Discovering the right foods can allow your student to feel healthy and energized. Clemson has
traditional dining hall experiences, various P.O.D. markets, a variety of coffee shops, food courts
and retail locations.
Meal Plans
We recognize dining on campus is not one-size-fits-all, so we offer a variety of meal plans to
accommodate the diverse needs of our students. Meal plans are created with the intent to offer
convenience, flexibility and quality. Meal plans come with a certain amount of guest meals that offer
the option for your student to bring a family member, significant other, sibling, faculty member, etc.,
into the dining hall. To see the different plans offered, please visit

“The summer before my son’s
junior year, he was dealt a
tremendous blow. He lost his
dad unexpectedly. His life was
shattered, but he had to start
school in less than a month.
Clemson’s Counseling and
Psychological Services (CAPS)
reached out to him, but he
felt that he was okay and he
did not have any extra time
to see them. However, during
the following spring semester,
he was having issues related
to the accident and he sought
help from CAPS. Because of
their help, he stayed on track.”
