Tasks
College Page
Sheila prides herself on being up-to-speed on all of the latest technologies, and she expects the websites for schools she visits to do the same. She would like to see RSS feeds, links to Twitter, Facebook, iTunesU, and other social media to help her stay connected to her students, as well as to students from other colleges and universities. By understanding the lifestyles students lead, she can help her students find their best fit in a graduate program. Thus, she is interested in seeing links to graduate quality of life (including extra-curricular activities), housing information, and scholarship and financial aid information and procedures, directly from the College page.
She also thinks it would be nice to have clearer links on the Clemson home page to help her navigate to the appropriate College, Department, and/or Program page(s). Links directly to undergraduate and graduate admissions procedures would be helpful as well. Lastly, she would like to see some links or content with regard to the College's mission statement.
Department Page
Since she mostly starts off her web search on the College page, Sheila would like to see easily accessible links from the College page to the Department page, and then from the Department page to each of the Programs in said Department. She also would like to see quick information on Departmental news, awards, honors, and scholarships, if available, and she would like to have easy access to contact information (faculty as well as staff) in case she has additional questions. She also feels strongly about having easy-to-find information on available financial aid and scholarships.
Program Page
Sheila visits the Program pages mostly to get course requirements, admissions procedures, program descriptions, and application deadlines - information that she then passes on to her students. Because she prides herself on helping her students find the best fit for graduate school, Sheila also searches the Program pages to look at photos and videos that may be posted of current students and faculty, in order to get a better feel for the people in the program.
