Tasks
College Page
Andrew's main reason for visiting any of the Clemson web pages - whether College, Departmental, or Program - has to do with locating contact information. He is also interested in being able to easily find a College directory so that he can quickly and easily determine the correct people to be in contact with when it comes to verifying story information or gathering quotes for use in a story. He also often visits the Brooks Center performance calendar and would like to see more news and events information posted for the College. A mission statement about the College would also be helpful.
Andrew would also like to see a standardized media section of the College page, with links to PR and/or media contacts in case he had general College questions, was looking for press photos, or needed any additional information.
Department and Program Pages
Again, Andrew primarily uses the Department and Program websites for contact information, and so would like to see, in an obvious location, links to faculty and staff directories. He would also like to see some professional/biographical information for each faculty member, in case he had specific questions relating to a particular area of interest.
He also frequently uses RSS feeds to keep track of various breaking news items across the Internet and might be interested in subscribing to a College, Department, or Program news feed if it was offered. Otherwise, he would be interested in seeing more frequently updated news items.
When Andrew looks at a Department web page, he typically gets there from the main Clemson website (www.clemson.edu) or from saved bookmarks on her computer, so he would like an easier way to:
- Get to the College pages from the main Clemson.edu home page
- Get to the Department page(s) from the College page
- Get to the Program page(s) from the Department page(s)
Furthermore, Andrew wants to see "Achievements" listed for students and/or faculty, either on the College, Department, or Program page(s).
